Port Charlotte PC8 is the fourth general release of Bruichladdich's heavily peated Islay malt. It is an 8-year-old made from 2001 spirit matured in American oak casks and bottled in 2009 at a cask strength of 60.5%, in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour.
Ar Duthchas is a Gaelic phrase meaning both Our Land and Our Heritage.
The nose combines sea spray, peat smoke, pepper and lemon, with heather, myrtle, oak sweetness and malted barley. The palate is viscous, rich and oily, with peat fire and Demerara sugar toddy. The finish brings marine notes alongside the sweetness of the oak.
