Port Charlotte PMC:01 2013 is a heavily peated Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, distilled in 2013 and bottled at 54.5% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It is non-chill filtered. The spirit spent four years in first-fill bourbon barrels, then five years in Pomerol wine casks from Bordeaux. It is the first time Port Charlotte has been finished in Pomerol casks. The barley is peated to 40 parts per million. The nose has warm peat smoke and red fruit, with stewed pear, melon, rose and a marine note. The palate is viscous, with malt sugar, peat, blackberry, plum and dark chocolate. The finish is long and smoky, with carbolic soap and resin.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
