Port Charlotte SC:01 2012 is a heavily peated Islay single malt from Bruichladdich's Cask Exploration Series, a limited edition bottled at 50% in a 70cl bottle.
It was made from 100% Islay barley, distilled in 2012 and matured in a combination of oak casks.
The nose is intensely smoky and peaty, with citrus, crème brûlée and spices. The palate is rich and oily, with layers of smoke, toffee, tropical fruit and toasted oak. The finish is long and warming, smoky and elegantly sweet.
