Powers Gold Label is a blended Irish whiskey from John Power & Son, in a 1 litre bottle at 40% ABV. This is a 1980s bottling, made at the original John's Lane distillery before production was consolidated into Midleton.
It has a high pot still content and is described as robust and spicy, with a deep golden honey colour.
The nose brings crisp apple, cinnamon and candied apricot, with brown sugar and toasted oak. The palate opens with honey and caramel, then oak, vanilla, green apple and red cherry. The finish is long and warming, with oak, caramel and a buttery pot still texture.
