Powers Gold Label Irish Whiskey (70cl, 40%)

Powers Gold Label is an Irish whiskey bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It is cut from the heart of the distillate, so more of the top and tail is discarded, and it is matured in selected American oak casks. The nose combines cinnamon, clove oil and white pepper with russet apple and ripe pear over charred oak. The palate adds green pepper and a touch of nutmeg to orchard fruit, vanilla and toasted oak, on a crisp barley core. The finish is long, with pot still oils and spices fading to barley, toasted wood and honey.
