Powers Irish Rye is an Irish rye whiskey made only from Irish rye, grown for Powers on the Cooney Furlong Farm in County Wexford. It is made at the Midleton Distillery in County Cork, where the mash is run at a reduced throughput and fermented for longer before triple distillation. It matured in fresh American oak casks as well as first-fill and refill American oak. Their sweet fruit and wood notes sit alongside an earthy, peppery rye spice. It is bottled at 43.2% in a 70cl bottle, without colouring or chill-filtering. The nose has burnt orange, maraschino cherries, banana and toffee, with rye bread and charred oak. The palate brings candied ginger, orange peel and clove, and the long finish carries a tingle of chilli oil.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
