This Ardmore is a 12 year old single cask Highland malt, bottled at 46% in a 70cl ceramic bottle. Only 284 bottles were filled, and it is a Father's Day edition.
Ardmore is unusual in the Highlands for making its whisky from traditionally peated barley.
The nose is gently smoky with a touch of earthy peat behind vanilla and biscuit dough. Maple syrup and cinnamon sticks on the palate lead into toasted grain and layers of dry smoke. The finish keeps a soft smoke, with crisp brown sugar and hazelnut biscuit.
