Pulteney – 20 2005/2025 Gordon & MacPhail Refill Sherry Butt #1680 (56.9%)

This is a 20 year old Pulteney, distilled in 2005 and matured in a single refill sherry butt, number 1680. Gordon & MacPhail bottled it in September 2025 in its Connoisseurs Choice series, at a cask strength of 56.9% ABV. The butt gave 534 bottles, filled without filtration and without added colouring. The nose opens with raisins and blackcurrant, followed by sweet cinnamon spice. The palate has ripe berries and caramelised apple slices alongside the dry bite of walnut. The finish brings raspberry and spicy liquorice, with smooth tannins.
