Rabbit Hole Amburana is a limited 2023 release in the Founder's Collection, bottled at 62.7% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It is a 12 year old Kentucky Straight Bourbon finished in new Brazilian oak.
The finishing barrels are made of amburana, a wood more often used for ageing cachaca. They have a heavy toast and a number 4 char, which brings out the sugars in the wood and lets the spirit draw flavour from the barrel.
The aim was a more exotic character, with floral and aromatic notes not usually found in a standard bourbon barrel.
