This is a Kentucky straight bourbon from RD1 Distillery at The Commons in Lexington, bottled at 49% ABV (98 proof) in a 750ml bottle. It has been aged for a minimum of four years and is non-chill filtered.
It is made from a mashbill of 70% corn, 21% rye and 9% malted barley, using a sour mash process. It is the distillery's base bourbon, before any wood stave finishing.
The nose brings vanilla wafers, roasted almonds, pipe tobacco and leather. The palate has orange, honeyed caramel, baking chocolate and peppery oak. The finish is long and warm, with ginger, cinnamon and light oak tannins.
