Red Spot 15 Year Old (70cl, 46%)

Red Spot 15 Year Old is a single pot still Irish whiskey from Midleton Distillery in County Cork, bonded for Mitchell and Son of Dublin. It is bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle and is the eldest of the Spot Whiskey range. The recipe comes from the Mitchell and Son family of wine merchants. Sicilian Marsala casks were obtained in the early 2000s, and in 2004 they were filled with a five-year-old, bourbon-matured single pot still whiskey. The finished whiskey spent a minimum of 15 years in American bourbon casks, Spanish Oloroso sherry butts and Marsala wine casks. The nose has pot still spice, baked apple, mango, black cherry, hazelnut and a touch of new leather. The palate adds ripe fruit, sweet red pepper and cracked black pepper, and the finish is extra long with exotic fruit and spice.
