Red Spot 15 Year Old is a single pot still Irish whiskey from the Mitchell & Son Spot Whiskey range, bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It has been matured for at least 15 years.
Three types of cask contribute: American bourbon barrels, Spanish Oloroso sherry casks and Sicilian Marsala wine casks.
The nose brings baked apple, ripe mango, black cherry and pot still spice, with hazelnut and toasted oak. On the palate are ripe and dried fruits, sweet red pepper and cracked black pepper, with barley character. The finish is very long, with fruit sweetness, warming spice and oak.
