This is Redbreast 12 year old single pot still Irish whiskey, bottled in the early 1960s by Gilbey's of Ireland Ltd. of 21 Kildare Street, Dublin. Merchant own-bottlings were common throughout Ireland, and many of the best-known Irish whiskies of today began that way. This bottle is a forerunner of the modern Redbreast. By the mid 1960s Redbreast was bottled each year in batches of about 4,000 gallons (18,000 litres). The bottle saw small changes during the decade, including an age statement on the foil cap seal from 1964. The white label with red writing stayed largely the same until at least 1972.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
