This is Redbreast 12 Year Old at cask strength, a single pot still Irish whiskey from Midleton Distillery. Batch B1/22 is bottled at 58.1% ABV in a 70cl bottle, after maturation in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks.
The nose offers ripe banana, dried fruit, honey, roasted nuts and warm spices. The palate is full and oily, with red berries, sherry sweetness, panna cotta, dried fig, cloves, cocoa and pot still spice. The finish is long, creamy and spicy, with sherry notes and a hint of oak.
