Redbreast 12 Year Old Cask Strength Batch B1/24 (70cl, 57.5%)

A 12 year old Irish single pot still whiskey from Redbreast, made at Midleton Distillery. This is batch B1/24, bottled at a cask strength of 57.5% in a 70cl bottle, without chill-filtration or added colour. The mash uses malted and unmalted barley, and the spirit is distilled three times in copper pot stills. It matures in ex-bourbon American oak casks together with Oloroso sherry butts of Spanish oak. The nose combines exotic fruit and a little citrus with dried apricot, sultanas, spice and toasted wood. The palate is rich, round and soft, with plentiful fruit and spice, sweet vanilla and a hint of oak. The finish is long and warming, with fruit and spice giving way to toasted oak and a malty barley note.
