Redbreast 12 Year Old Cask Strength (70cl, 58.1%)

This is a twelve-year-old Irish single pot still whisky from Redbreast, bottled at a cask strength of 58.1% in a 70cl bottle. It matured in bourbon casks of American oak together with oloroso sherry casks of Spanish oak. The mash combines malted and unmalted barley, and the spirit is triple distilled in copper pot stills at Midleton in County Cork. It is bottled without chill-filtration. The nose offers juicy exotic fruit and a little citrus, with dried apricots, sultanas, spice and toasted wood. The palate is full, round and soft, with rich fruit and spice, vanilla sweetness and a hint of oak. The long finish begins fruity and spicy, moves to toasted oak and barley, and ends with buttery caramel.
