Redbreast 12 Year Old is a triple-distilled Irish single pot still whiskey from the Midleton Distillery in Cork, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. The name comes from a bird-loving director of the company W&A Gilbey, who gave the whiskey the robin's name. It is chill-filtered and has caramel colouring added.
The nose offers dried fruit, ripe banana and apple with vanilla and almond. Sherry notes lead the palate, alongside pear and apricot. The finish is long and soft, shaped by sherry and the raw barley character of pot still whiskey.
