Redbreast 18 Year Old is an Irish single pot still whiskey from the Midleton Distillery in County Cork, bottled at 46% ABV. It is made from malted and unmalted barley and distilled three times in copper pot stills.
The whiskey spends eighteen years in a mix of bourbon, sherry and port casks, including Oloroso sherry and Ruby port.
The nose brings ripe raspberries, blackcurrants, glazed cherries and dried figs, with chocolate, hazelnut, cinnamon, leather and a little ginger. On the palate come autumn fruits, orange peel, liquorice and roasted almonds over toasted oak. The finish is long and silky, with spicy oak and lingering fruit sweetness.
