Redbreast Lustau Edition (70cl, 46%)

Redbreast Lustau Edition is a single pot still Irish whiskey from the Redbreast Iberian Series, made by Midleton Distillery in collaboration with Bodegas Lustau of Jerez. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. The whiskey was first matured for 9 to 12 years in bourbon and sherry casks, then finished for a further year in first-fill sherry butts seasoned with Oloroso from Bodegas Lustau. The nose has dark fruits, prunes, dates and figs, with liquorice, marzipan, toasted oak and spice. The palate is silky, with assertive spice balanced by the sherry finish. The finish is very long, with sweetness and spice lingering until Oloroso and Spanish oak have the last word.
