The mashbill is 94% rye, 5% malted barley and 1% wheat, and the whiskey combines MGP-sourced rye with rye distilled by Redwood Empire in California.
The nose is herbal, with tea, cinnamon, dried orange peel, anise, sage, lavender and lemon rind. The palate is viscous and full, with Earl Grey tea, spearmint, clove, rye spice and dark chocolate-covered coffee beans. The finish is long and warming, with baking spice and a dry, clean close.
