Redwood Empire Rocket Top is a bottled-in-bond straight rye whiskey from California, released as Batch 004 under Master Distiller Jeff Duckhorn. The mash bill is 89% rye.
It was distilled in spring 2019 and bottled in June 2024, from 68 barrels aged in the temperate climate of the Northern California coast. Each release is drawn only from barrels produced within a six-month span, so the character shifts from batch to batch.
The name comes from Rocket Top, a coast redwood in the Patriarch Forest in Humboldt Redwoods State Park.
