Redwood Empire – Lost Monarch Rye / Bourbon Blend

Redwood Empire Lost Monarch is a blend of rye whiskey and bourbon, aged for no less than three years. It is 60% rye whiskey (95% rye, 5% malted barley, aged 3 to 5 years) and 40% bourbon (75% corn, 21% rye, 4% malted barley, aged 5 to 12 years), and includes some of Redwood Empire's own distillate. It is named after the world's largest coast redwood by volume, which stands 320 feet tall. The colour is yellow gold. The nose has faint corn, orange curaçao crème brûlée, vanilla and darker baking spices. The palate is medium-bodied, with corn and vanilla sweetness, light orange, then rye spice and caramel. The finish is medium-long, with caramel, vanilla, syrup and a hint of spice.
