Redwood Empire Lost Monarch Whiskey (75cl, 45%)

Lost Monarch is a blend of straight whiskeys from Redwood Empire Whiskey in Northern California, bottled at 45% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It combines 55% straight rye with 45% straight bourbon, drawn from barrels aged 3 to 14 years, and pairs the distillery's own distillate with mature sourced whiskey. The name comes from the Lost Monarch, which the brand describes as the world's largest coastal redwood, found in the Grove of Titans. The colour is dark amber with a slight orange cast. The nose offers clove, cinnamon, vanilla and orange zest with butterscotch and a hint of sandalwood. On the palate, corn sweetness meets rye spice, with maple, vanilla and caramel. The finish is peppery, persistent yet subdued.
