Ricossa Barolo 2018 (75cl, 13.5%)

Ricossa Barolo 2018 is a red Barolo DOCG from the Langhe in Piedmont, made entirely from Nebbiolo and bottled at 13.5% ABV. It is fermented and macerated in temperature-controlled stainless steel with frequent pumping over, then aged for two years in French barriques and a further year in bottle. The colour is garnet with orange reflections. Liquorice leads on the nose, with red fruit, spice and toasted caramel. The palate has good structure and balance, with well-managed tannins, and suits red meats and well-aged cheeses.
