This is a 13 year old Irish single malt from Roe & Co, the 2020 Edition, bottled at a cask strength of 58% in a 70cl bottle.
It spent its whole 13 years maturing in first-fill ruby port casks, rather than receiving a port finish. It is a limited release.
The nose offers ripe red fruit, raspberry, plum, light cocoa and raisins with a touch of oak. The palate is smooth but powerful, with port sweetness, black cherries, dark chocolate and spicy warmth. The finish is long and warming, fruity, with gentle tannins and a hint of spice.
