This is a 14 year old single grain Irish whiskey from Roe & Co, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle.
The whiskey is finished in casks that previously held Fino and Amontillado sherry. The name Flor refers to the yeast layer that forms during the biological ageing of certain sherries, and the cask choice picks up that link. It is bottled without chill-filtration and without colouring.
The nose brings citrus zest, green apple and marzipan, with apricot and coconut. On the palate there is stewed apricot, orange and almonds, with vanilla and a creamy texture. The finish is long, with toffee and a light ginger spice.
