Romano Levi Grappa Gentile alla Camomilla (40%)

This is a camomile grappa from Distilleria Romano Levi, made from the marc of Nebbiolo from Barbaresco, Dolcetto d'Alba and Barbera d'Alba. The grappa is distilled in single batches over an open flame with the marc submerged, then rested in barrel for six months. Camomile flowers are added and left to macerate for three to four weeks. The grappa is then filtered through a system designed by Lidia Levi to keep the scent of the camomile and the character of the grappa. It is light yellow in the glass, with flowers and fresh herbs on the nose and a camomile note. The palate is soft and pleasant, with the camomile lasting.
