A Venezuelan rum aged for 25 years in a single oak barrel and released as a numbered, limited-edition bottling. It is produced by Destilería Carúpano, founded in 1762, with long maturation in American oak barrels without replenishment of the angel's share. Only a few hundred numbered bottles are released each year. It is best enjoyed neat or with a single large ice cube.
Tasting Notes
Rich and intense, with dried stone fruit, dark chocolate, toasted coffee beans, vanilla, caramel, toasted nuts, subtle sea air brine and a hint of tropical fruit.
Full-bodied and layered, with molasses, brown sugar, baked apple, cinnamon coffee cake, tonka bean and spice, plus pipe tobacco, cocoa nibs and raspberry nougat.
Long, warm and elegantly drying, with chocolate sauce, cherry syrup, allspice and subtle tobacco richness.
