Ron Añejo Carupano Reserva Privada is a rum from Venezuela whose roots reach back to the Hacienda Altamira, founded in 1762. Created by master distiller Carmen López de Bastidas, it is the result of more than 260 years of craft and is aged for 21 years in American oak barrels that previously held bourbon.
The nose brings dry fruits, dates, raisins and orange peel, with undertones of oak, vanilla, mocha and tobacco. The palate adds coconut and dark chocolate to the fruity notes, leading to a full-bodied, slightly bitter finish.
