Rosebank – 1991/2022 31 Year Old Release 2 (70cl, 48.1%)

This is a 31 year old Lowland single malt from Rosebank, an original distillery bottling labelled Release 2. It was distilled in 1991, a few years before the distillery closed, and bottled in 2022 at 48.1% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. Rosebank is known for triple distillation and an elegant, floral style, and the long maturation adds depth to this release. Tasting notes mention fresh citrus, white blossom and ripe apple on the nose, with vanilla, honey and delicate herbs. The palate is silky, with pear, peach, lemon zest, malty sweetness and elegant oak spice. The finish is long, fresh and dry, with floral notes, citrus and light wood.
