This is a single cask Rosebank from 1993, the last vintage produced at the Lowland distillery before it closed in May of that year. It was matured in a bourbon hogshead.
Ian Macleod, the distillery's new owner, chose to release part of the old Rosebank stock alongside the plan to reopen the site. Cask 433 is one of the first two casks to appear, the other being cask 625.
The nose offers spicy orange and lemon with sweet meadow flowers, cut grass and barley sugar. On the palate come vanilla cream, toffee, sharp apple, oak spice and a little peach, turning to damp oak and dark chocolate. The finish brings oak spice, toasted fruit bread and blackcurrant jam, with black liquorice building slowly.
