Enchantment is the seventh and final edition of The Roses series, in which Elixir Distillers shows different sides of Rosebank. This 21 year old marries whisky distilled in 1990 and 1991: 75% from American oak barrels and 25% from Madeira hogsheads. It is a vatting of casks, not a single cask bottling.
It is bottled at 50.3% in a 70cl bottle, without chill-filtration or added colour.
The nose opens with honeydew melon, meadow flowers, cinnamon and soft brown sugar. On the palate come vanilla sponge, aniseed, tarragon and strawberry jelly. The finish is sweet and creamy, with a little wood spice and a slight saltiness.
