Rosebank Unity is the sixth of seven releases in The Roses, a series from Elixir Distillers. It vats triple-distilled Rosebank malt from 1990 and 1991, matured for 21 years in a mix of bourbon and Madeira casks. The 2022 edition was bottled at 52.7% in a run of 840 bottles.
The Madeira spice adds depth to a light spirit, and sweet, toasty wood sits alongside floral, grassy and citrus character.
The nose is floral, with white blossom, fresh meadow, ginger, lemon and grapefruit peel, then butter, wax, almonds and a touch of chalk. Grapefruit and lemon peel lead the palate, with dry grass, pine needles and toasted wood. The finish is medium, fresh and peppery, with green citrus.
