This is a 21 year old Lowland single malt from Rosebank, bottled independently by Elixir Distillers as the seventh and final release in The Roses collection. It is bottled at 50.3% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky was distilled in 1990 and 1991 and matured in a mix of 75% American oak barrels and 25% Madeira hogsheads. It was bottled in 2023, with 975 bottles produced.
The nose is floral, with vanilla sponge batter, strawberries and orchard fruit. The palate brings vanilla sponge, strawberry jelly and cinnamon, with aniseed, tarragon, ginger and mint. The finish is long, with floral and herbal notes, toasted vanilla, liquorice root and gentle oak spice.
