This is a straight rye whiskey from Roughstock in Montana, made from 100% rye grain and bottled at 45% in a 75cl bottle.
It is distilled in copper pot stills at the foot of the Bridger mountains and aged in new American oak barrels with a medium-heavy char.
The nose combines toffee, baking spices and fresh orange peel, with vanilla and oak. The palate is lively, with fresh mint, warm cinnamon, light butterscotch and peppery rye spice, balanced by a gentle sweetness. The finish is medium to long, with lingering mint, toffee and a touch of smoked oak.
