Royal Reserve is a Canadian rye whisky bottled at 40% in a 200ml bottle. It is produced by Corby Spirit and Wine at the Hiram Walker & Sons Distillery in Windsor, Ontario.
It is blended for a light, smooth character, with sweet grain and toffee set against a crisp rye note.
The nose is gentle, with honey, vanilla and caramel, then rye grain, toasted almond and a little clove. The palate starts with corn, toffee and caramelised sugar, balanced by peppery rye spice and a touch of lemon zest. The finish is clean and warm, of medium length, ending in soft vanilla and toasted oak.
