Royal Reserve is a Canadian whisky in a 375ml bottle at 40% ABV, made by Corby Spirit and Wine at the Hiram Walker & Sons Distillery in Windsor, Ontario. It is described as a rye whisky with roots in the cocktail years of the 1960s and 70s, blended light and smooth rather than hot.
It can be served neat or over ice, or mixed in highballs such as a Rye and Ginger or a Whisky Sour.
Light golden amber in colour, it has honey, vanilla and caramel on the nose, sweet corn and toffee on the palate balanced by peppery rye and lemon zest, and a clean, medium-length finish of soft vanilla and toasted oak.
