Rozelieures – Exception Bourbon Cask Strength (53.8%)

Rozelieures Exception Bourbon Cask Strength is a French single malt distilled in 2015 and bottled at cask strength, 53.8% ABV. Peated to 30 ppm, it matured entirely in an ex-bourbon cask, number F136, chosen from the stock at the Rozelieures farm distillery and malting house. It is a single cask bottling. The nose offers juicy pear and pineapple with cocoa and caramel, alongside gentle peat and a little vanilla. On the palate dried fruit comes first, then yellow fruit such as mirabelle and pineapple before the peat arrives. The finish is fairly long, with vegetal peat and a touch of liquorice over syrupy fruit.
