Ruadh Maor from 2012, ten years old and bottled by Dràm Mòr. It matured in a single bourbon cask and was finished in a first fill Portuguese red wine cask. The outturn was 268 bottles.
Smoke and sweetness sit together here. The nose brings roasted caramel and wood smoke with a hint of pear drops, sticky red berries and gentle ginger. The palate continues the smoky sweetness with caramel, very old worn leather and the creamy fruit of sweet red wine. The finish is rich and long, with lingering wood smoke, caramelised fruit, butterscotch and tannins.
