A red wine from Spoleto Ducale, made from Sagrantino in the Montefalco area. It shows an intense ruby colour with violet reflections and a concentrated nose of ripe black fruit, plum and cherry, with spice, liquorice and leather. The palate is full and enveloping, with robust but well-integrated tannins and a long finish. It suits red meats, roasts, game and aged cheeses, with brief decanting and service at 16-18 °C.
