Sakurao – Single Malt Japanese Whisky (70cl, 43%)

Sakurao Single Malt is a Japanese single malt from the Sakurao Brewery and Distillery in Hatsukaichi, Hiroshima. It is composed entirely of malt whisky distilled in Japan and matured in the coastal Sakurao warehouse. The spirit is aged for more than three years across four different cask types, and the whisky is bottled at 43% ABV. The nose is fruit-forward, with raisins, fresh orange and ripe peach. On the palate, vanilla sweetness sits alongside ripe fruit, moderate acidity, a little bitterness and subtle oak. The finish is long, with lingering sweetness and gentle smoke.
