A limited Japanese single malt from the SAKURAO Brewery and Distillery in Hatsukaichi, Hiroshima, made entirely from malted barley. It is bottled at 50% ABV in a 70cl bottle, without chill filtration or added colouring.
The whisky is first matured in Bourbon casks, then given an 18-month finish in Sauternes wine casks.
The nose is usually described as honey and apple with cinnamon and ripe fruit. On the palate there is creamy custard, ripe banana, pear and honeyed sweetness, with a gentle wine-cask character. The finish is long and sweet, with honey, ripe fruit and Sauternes influence.
