Samuel Gelston's Blended Irish Whiskey (75cl, 40%)

Samuel Gelston's is a blended Irish whiskey that revives a Belfast brand founded in 1830 by the wine and whiskey merchant Samuel Gelston. The revival is led by Johnny Neill, great-great-grandson of Harry Neill, who took over the business in 1869. It blends Irish malted barley and grain whiskey, triple distilled and matured in ex-bourbon oak casks, and is bottled at 40%. In the glass it is light golden. The nose is delicate, with a little dry spice, hints of fruit and hard boiled sweets. The palate is slightly spicy, with a smooth, honeyed texture and grain and nut notes, leading to a long, elegant finish.
