Sigel Malt is a Swiss single malt from Säntis, made by Brauerei Locher in the Appenzell Alps. It is bottled at 40% ABV in a 50cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
The whisky is matured in a combination of old beer casks and wine casks, so the beer-cask ageing Säntis is known for is joined by wine cask influence.
The nose offers malted barley, dried fruit, honey, vanilla and red berries, with light oak spice and herbal notes. The palate is full-bodied, with sweet malt, caramel, toasted cereal and dark fruit. The finish is medium to long and warming, with malt sweetness, dried fruit and a touch of pepper.
