Sazerac de Forge XO is a Cognac made as a tribute to Bernard Sazerac de Forge, one of the original Cognac houses of the 1700s. It is blended from eaux-de-vie drawn from various crus of the Cognac region and aged for a minimum of 10 years in French oak.
On the nose it shows dried apricot, candied orange peel, baking spices, toasted oak and floral notes. The palate is smooth and full-bodied, with honey, stewed fruit, spice cake, roasted nuts and vanilla cream, and hints of rancio in the mid-palate. The finish is long, with nutmeg, oak tannin, fig and a little cocoa powder.
