This is a 10 year old single malt from Scapa, a distillery on Orkney founded in 1885, bottled at 48% ABV. It is matured in American oak casks.
Scapa works with traditional pot stills and a Lomond wash still.
The nose brings fresh pineapple and ripe mango with crème brûlée, honey and cinnamon. On the palate, warming spice leads, with stewed apples and vanilla custard, then banana, oak and milk chocolate. The finish is balanced, fruity and pleasantly spicy.
