Scapa – 10 Years (70cl, 48%)

Scapa 10 Years is a single malt from the Orkney island of Mainland, bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle. The distillery sits on the shore of Scapa Flow. The whisky was matured for ten years in American white oak casks. Scapa is the only single malt distillery still using a Lomond still, although its adjustable plates have been removed. Production restarted in 2005 after a long closure and extensive renovation. The nose is fruity, with pineapple, green apple, mango ice cream and honey. The palate brings apple, warming spice and vanilla custard, and the finish carries a touch of sea air.
