Scarabus – Batch Strength is a whisky from Scarabus (Islay). Bottled at 57% ABV, 70cl. Formed after Fred and Stewart Laing parted ways in 2013, Hunter Laing is under ownership of the latter and his two sons. The company took over Edition Spirits and began releasing their First Editions series. Since the demerger, Hunter Laing claimed the following ranges: Old Malt Cask; Old and Rare Selection; and the Sovereign. Hunter Laing released the Scarabus Islay single malt to mark Feis Ile 2019 and the opening of Ardnahoe distillery. Produced at an undisclosed distillery on the island, Scarabus is named after farmland in the north of Islay where there once stood a distillery called Scarabuss which operated very briefly from 1817 to 1818.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
