Shinobu – 10 Year Old Pure Malt Lightly Peated Mizunara Oak Finish (70cl, 43%)

Shinobu 10 Year Old is a lightly peated pure malt from Niigata, on Japan's western coast, bottled at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Master blender Usami Ken aged it for more than ten years in sherry and bourbon hogsheads, then finished it in Japanese Mizunara oak. It is bottled without chill-filtration or added colour. The nose offers honey, chocolate, dry grass and bonfire smoke from the peated malt. The palate brings caramel, coffee, gentle smoke, seaweed and vanilla, and the finish is long and smooth, with salted caramel.
