Shinobu – 10 Year Old Pure Malt Lightly Peated Mizunara Oak Finish (70cl, 43%)

Shinobu 10 Year Old Lightly Peated is a Japanese pure malt whisky from the Shinobu Distillery in Niigata, on the country's western coast. It is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle, without chill-filtration or added colour. Master blender Usami Ken matured it for more than 10 years in sherry and bourbon hogshead casks, then finished it in Japanese Mizunara oak. The lightly peated malt brings seaweed and smoky flavours. The nose is honeyed, with chocolate, dry grass and bonfire smoke. The palate offers caramel, coffee and gentle smoke, then seaweed and vanilla, and the finish is long and smooth with salted caramel.
